About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support various aspects of the design process, including sample organization, design coordination, CAD print work for textile and fashion design including cleaning and preparing artwork, participation in fittings, technical design support - measuring samples and preparing them for fittings, photoshoot assistance, data entry, and contributing to concepting and design research.
Responsibilities Will Include

• Sample Organization: Assisting in maintaining the organization of design samples, ensuring they are properly cataloged and easily accessible for reference. Tracking development and sample packages to and from the vendors. Checking in samples for fits and photoshoots and ensuring that all items are accounted for.
• CAD Print Work: Performing a variety of CAD work to support our textile design process: scanning artwork, cleaning up artwork, creating layout and colorway options, and preparing it to be factory ready. Helping to print and prepare artworks to send to factories.
• Fittings: Supporting the design team during fittings by preparing samples, taking detailed notes, photographing corrections, and assisting with any necessary adjustments.
• Technical Design Support: Aiding in the development of technical design specifications and documents, collaborating with the design team to ensure accurate product construction.
• Photoshoot Support: Assisting during photoshoots by preparing products, coordinating with the photography team, and ensuring that the creative vision is executed effectively.
• Data Entry: Maintaining accurate records and databases related to design projects, including materials, samples, and product specifications.
• Concepting and Design Research: Contributing to brainstorming sessions, concept development, and design research, staying informed about industry trends and emerging techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field

• 1-2 years experience in a Design Assistant role or similar position within the fashion or textile industry
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, for CAD print work
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a creative team environment
• Knowledge of garment construction and technical design principles is preferred

• This is a full-time position in our Philadelphia office. Some hybrid work may be possible, but candidates should expect to be in the studio 5 days per week.
